Effects of global climate change in the U.S.

The White House has released 16/06/09 in the first detailed assessment of the consequences of climate change in the U.S.. The publication, entitled «The impact of global climate change in United States» conducted by the research program of the United States to global change (US Global Change Research Program).

The new analysis brings years of scientific research and takes account of new data were not available during the preparation of previous national and global estimates. Created by a consortium of experts from 13 U.S. government agencies and several major universities and research institutes.

Some of the conclusions of the report are:

Global warming is clearly the main induced by human activity. Human «impressions» have also been identified in many other aspects of the climate system, including changes in ocean heat content, atmospheric wetness, precipitation and the extent of Arctic ice. Global warming has been / to have the following effects in the U.S..

More-frequent heat waves
-Increase in floods
-Reduced summer runoff, particularly in the western United States.
-Increased ocean temperatures and acidosis that threatens coral reefs
-Increased insect outbreaks and fires.
-More frequent and severe coastal flooding due to rising sea levels.

The report also focuses on measures to be taken to limit climate change and adapt
